Network audio interface

Meanwhile, the transmission of multichannel audio - for example, from the stage to the mixing desk at the back of the room or in the control room - has become much easier and more reliable by using Ethernet networks as a carrier. Many manufacturers use their own protocol, but there are a number of standards that more and more companies are adopting. One important one is Dante.

Besides Dante, there are several other standards, each of which has its own attractive features. You can think of MADI, Revenna, ADAT, AVB and AES67. Some protocols can transport video in addition to audio. There is still a lot of development so the last word has not yet been spoken.
