The DAP NRG series consists of lightweight full-range loudspeakers with 8” to 15” woofers and subwoofers with 12” to 18” drivers, available in passive and
active versions. The series is designed for mobile DJ applications or permanent installations in small to medium-sized venues. All NRG speakers use robust but lightweight plywood enclosures, double-angled pole mounts and M10 fly points on the full range speakers, M20 adapters on the subwoofers, a professional-grade wear-resistant polyurea coating and rugged 4-pole speaker connectors as well as terminal connectors to deliver great ease of use and sound quality at a very competitive price.
The DAP NRG-12S is a passive subwoofer rated at 1200 watts peak (300 watts continuous RMS). It uses a 12” woofer with a 2.5” voice coil to deliver bass down to 50 Hertz (-6 dB). With a sensitivity of 94 dB/W/m, it comfortably produces up to 120 dB continuous and up to 132 dB peak.
The rugged, lightweight plywood enclosure has an M20 threaded insert for mounting a speaker pole. It uses 4-pole speaker in and thru connectors and offers an additional 4-pin terminal connector, which is particularly useful for fixed installations. To get the most out of the NRG-12S, we recommend using a 4th order high-pass filter at 45 Hertz and a 4th order low-pass filter of up to a maximum of 450 Hertz.
