Functioning of the SRSmedilux PMX2A48

The device is a compact unit that cleans the air using UVC technology. The powerful UVC lamps destroy bacteria, fungi, yeasts and viruses. Thus, it also works against COVID-19.

This product is ideal for disinfecting waiting rooms of doctors and dentists. But it can also be used in catering and gym environments to fight corona. For communal areas, such as changing rooms in schools or at the gym, the product offers a good solution to combat corona virus in a safe and practical way.

The device does not require extensive technical knowledge. All you have to do is plug it in and press the button to turn it on.

The PMX2A48 makes uv-C light safe for humans

UVC light has a major drawback. Namely, it is harmful to human skin and eyes. Fortunately, there is a solution for this. By means of quiet fans (< 20dB), the air in the room is guided past uv-C lamps with a capacity of 57^m3 per hour. The unit is fitted with a lightproof housing. This allows people to be safely in the same room when the device is working. This makes this product safer and easier to use than other uv-C devices on the market.

Additional protection of the PMX2A48

There are several additional safeguards built into the device. For example:

• A warning when the uv-C lamps need to be replaced.
• When the device needs servicing.
• The uv-C lamps are switched off as soon as the housing is opened, so the light cannot harm anyone.
• The device is equipped with air filters to prevent internal contamination of the device and provides additional air filtration.

Using the PMX2A48

The brackets make it easy to hang the PMX2A48 on the wall. But the compact device also fits on your desk. The unit's air purification capacity is 23 m² per hour. Converted to a ceiling height of 2.5 metres, this means:

• Air purification 1x per hour for a surface area up to 23m²
• Air purification 1x per 2 hours for a surface area of up to 46m²
• Air purification 1x per 4 hours for a surface area up to 92m²
• Air treatment 1x per 8 hours for a surface area of up to 183 m²

You can also order additional accessories, such as a stand with or without wheels, a spare air filter or extra lamps. The PMX2A48 is made in Europe and comes with a two-year manufacturer's warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the device purify a maximum of 183^m2?

The device purifies air from the room. Effective killing of viruses requires that the air in the room is purified at least once every eight hours when one or two people are present in the room. If more people are present or if it is a public space, the air needs to be purified more often. Therefore, we recommend putting several devices in a room in that case.

Is the device really quiet?

Yes, the device is very quiet. 20 dB means that you will not hear the device in the middle of the night if it is two metres away.

Why should I buy this device and not a cheaper air purifier?

The devices we tested that cost up to €300 all had a maximum uv-C lamp of 8W. Our device works with 36W or 48W uv-C. That's five to six times more powerful than those other devices.

How often should I replace the lamp?

The lamp has a lifespan of about 8,000 hours. If the device is on for eight hours a day, you should replace the lamp after two and a half years.
