Australian company JAG Microphones developed a lavalier microphone based on the renowned IMX6A: the LAV6A. Its features are therefore identical to those of the IMX6A, which features a 3mm condenser capsule with outstanding characteristics in terms of sound quality, maximum SPL and gain before feedback.

It is no coincidence that the IMX6A - and thus the lavalier version LAV6A - is recommended for the most critical applications. Also noteworthy in this respect is that these condenser microphones are also successfully used for classical singers, including tenors and sopranos. Of course, in that case you can also use the LAV6A as a drip microphone, but for speakers, for example, it can also be used as a regular adhesive microphone on the cheek. So the applications are not limited to lapel microphones.

 

The JAG LAV6A offers great sound quality. The reproduction is particularly precise and it finds its place in the overall mix without excessive use of EQ. The sound quality is comparable to that of microphones costing many times more than JAGs.

The JAG LAV6A is available in beige and black. Connectors are available for wired XLR and receivers like the Sennheiser EW series (mini-jack), Shure (mini-xlr) and Sennheiser/Shure (Lemo-3). There is also a single-ear version for quick microphone changes for lectures and presentations, for example.
