The CXN-16 is a multi-purpose, bi-amping, high-performance monitor. Its attractive, rounded design integrates easily and elegantly and unobtrusively into any location. A small footprint and excellent performance go hand in hand, making it the perfect choice at all times, whether it is a private stage or at the biggest venue. The CXN-16 has the best weight-to-power ratio in the world: 540 x 540 x 360mm, 26kg, 1,000W AES, 101dB sensitivity.

4x 8-inch matches 16-inch and exceeds the capabilities of standard 15-inch designs. Four separate 2.5-inch woofer voice coils plus a specifically developed 3-inch horn driver offer much more space for heat dissipation and reduce power compression. Amplifier power is used more efficiently.

Symmetrical

Our aim was to develop a professional tool to make the work of sound engineers easier as well as to give artists on stage a reliable response and positive atmosphere for their performance.
The symmetrical speaker placement creates a well-centred and even sound image that does not change when the performer moves. A large 1.4-inch horn allows for a very low crossover frequency and precise directional characteristics that are vital for clarity and detailed response. For lower frequencies, this precise directional pattern is extended by the coupling of our 4 x 8-inch design and results in an overall very long range and excellent off-axis suppression. You can locate the sound where you want it.

Precise

The CXN-16 surpasses conventional, coaxial designs in terms of sound precision, directivity and power handling, setting a new standard. Our 8-inch woofers have low moving mass and high sensitivity, and respond faster than larger speakers. Artists get a very precise response and - more importantly - a balanced soundstage to avoid intonation problems and enable high gain-before-feedback.

Footprint

The CXN-16 has the same width as the Paveosub-118 and the supports at the bottom are made to fit into the subwoofer's notches. Visually and mechanically, they form an elegant unit for drum or DJ monitoring. A Voice-Acoustic self-powered subwoofer can drive a CXN-16 in half-powered mode.
The robust grille is made of 2mm steel and the curved shape is reinforced on both sides with welded brackets and extra support in the centre on top of the horn. The finish is naturally hard-wearing.
A small tunnel at the bottom allows the cable to be routed under the monitor. A tilting pole connection, the popular Easyfly mechanism and a slot for attaching a safety cable make the CXN-16 a multifunctional tool for professionals.

Control

The CXN-16 is used in high-power bi-amping mode on two channels (2,400 W + 800 W / 4 Ω) of an HDSP-6 or HDSP-4 amplifier.

In half-power mode, bi-amping can be used on two channels (800 W + 800 W / 4 Ω) of HDSP-6 or HDSP-4. Thus, the amplifier's 2,400 W channels are available for a subwoofer.

A CXN-16 bi-amping can be driven by a Voice-Acoustic self-powered subwoofer in half-power mode. Impedance: LF 8Ω, HF 16Ω.
