The Voice-Acoustic Paveosub-112sp DDA: the world's lowest 12-inch subwoofer, with Dante
The Paveosub-112sp DDA is a very compact bass-reflex subwoofer for universal applications in mobile use and in fixed installations.
DDA stands for a new generation of DSP and input boards capable of handling a variety of signals: DANTE, digital AES/EBU, AES67 and analogue inputs. The signals can be further looped through.
At only 30 cm high, the Paveosub-112sp DDA is the world's lowest 12-inch subwoofer and can be used where high sound pressure and depth are required in the smallest spaces. Due to its flat dimensions, the subwoofer can be safely used for satellite systems when operated with a spacer pole it forms an elegant silhouette with column speakers and line array sticks.
Design
Four rubber feet on both the narrow and wide sides of the enclosure with stacking troughs on either side guarantee a secure position without slipping. To allow the Paveosub-112sp DDA to be used lying down or upright, two M20 flanges for spacer bars are also integrated and ensure flexible use and an attractive appearance, depending on the combined top section.
Monitoring
The Paveo's stacking bins are in the same dimensions as the Modular-10, lying down as a monitor. In addition, both speakers are 52 cm in size, making them visually unified as well. This combination results in a professional drum fill that will make any drummer happy. The compact design takes up little space on stage.
An extremely powerful drive (B/L factor 26), the high-quality 12-inch neodymium chassis guarantees fast and accurate signal reproduction with excellent fade-in and fade-out behaviour. The loudspeaker has a large and heavy 4-inch voice coil, an advanced ventilation system and lower power compression than conventional bass drivers: the output stage power is used more effectively and efficiency is maintained even with permanent full modulation.
The two bass reflex channels are attached to the sides. This arrangement prevents the double-centred diaphragm from wobbling at high deflections, as air escapes from all sides, generating an even back pressure. This type of tunnel construction reinforces the house walls again. Additional internal struts ensure maximum stability and prevent unwanted resonances.
Two large handles accessible from all sides and a removable front rollerboard make handling a pleasure.
Plug&play
The Paveosub-112sp DDA is a plug&play system: all necessary settings for different configurations are stored as factory settings in the internal memory. Whether as a single bass, in a stack with multiple basses, cardioid and end-fire bass arrays or as the centre of a satellite system in combination with different top parts (passive stereo, bi-amping tops mono), the right preset is easily selected via the display and the The user immediately has the best possible performance and operational reliability.
A number of functions, access options and settings are also available to the experienced technician and audio professional.
A display, knob and encoder wheel are integrated at the back, giving access to almost all parameters even without PC control. The functions can be password-locked against unauthorised access. The display can be dimmed and completely switched off in two modes and prevents unwanted stray light. The display is reactivated by pressing a button or the encoder.
The active electronics are convection-cooled by a large heat sink and are maintenance-free. No dust or moisture is sucked in, making the Paveosub-112sp DDA also suitable for fixed fixed installations. The stable cooling fins are generously rounded and have no sharp edges. The control unit, DSP unit and signal connections are protected from moisture with a stable, transparent cover. The cooling line is watertight and the powerCON TRUE1 connections are fitted with a rubber sealing cap.
